What is underwriting?
Raw 100.5 operates as WPVC-LP, licensed by the FCC to the Big Hands Helping Little Hearts Foundation, a nonprofit organization. The station is noncommercial, so it does not run ads. Instead, local businesses and organizations support the station through underwriting and are thanked online now and on the air once broadcasting begins.
Underwriting announcements begin once Raw 100.5 starts broadcasting; nothing is charged before then.
Spanish-language underwriting acknowledgments are accepted. The same FCC rules apply.

What Raw 100.5 offers Jackson
Raw 100.5 is a local station for Jackson, Tennessee, with local news, talk, soul & R&B, and a place for the community to be heard — on 100.5 FM and online.
Underwriting here is community support, not advertising. Your name reaches neighbors who tune in because the station is theirs: raw, uncut, truthful and rooted in Jackson. Here is what that means in plain terms, with no inflated numbers.
Reach, honestly
Raw 100.5 is a 100-watt low-power FM (LPFM) station. An LPFM signal is local by design. It is built to serve Jackson and nearby parts of Madison County and West Tennessee, not an entire region. Listeners outside the signal area will be able to follow along through the station’s online stream.
Who listens
Raw 100.5 is made for community-focused listeners: families, local business owners, and members of church and neighborhood groups who want local news, straight talk and soul music from a station that sounds like home. We describe our audience in plain words and will not quote listener numbers until the station can document them.
On-air mentions
Once broadcasting begins, each underwriter’s acknowledgment will air as a short, written-to-FCC-rules mention. It can include your sponsor name, your business or organization name, a neutral, value-neutral tagline describing what you do, your location, and a website or phone number. Under 47 CFR § 73.503, acknowledgments do not include prices, discounts, calls to action, or qualitative or comparative claims.
Your name on the Sponsors page
Every underwriter is listed on the station’s Sponsors page with your name, location, website or phone, and a neutral description of what you do. Higher levels also carry your logo and a link, as shown in the levels below.
Newsletter inclusion
The Raw 100.5 community newsletter launches with the station, for Jackson neighbors, station supporters and underwriters. It is planned monthly and carries station news, upcoming shows and schedule changes, and community events. A thank-you section lists underwriters by level; higher levels get a featured mention with logo and a neutral description. Sponsor mentions follow the same FCC-safe style as on-air acknowledgments: name, location, a neutral tagline and website, with no prices or calls to action. Sign-up will be in the footer box once it is connected.
Community event tie-ins
Underwriters can be recognized at station events and community broadcasts, as the level allows. Event dates can also be shared on the station’s community events calendar, and dated event announcements are available as their own one-week level.
Please note: WPVC-LP is building toward broadcast. On-air acknowledgments will air once broadcasting begins. Until then, your support is recognized on this website.
Why your support matters
A nonprofit-owned station
Raw 100.5 operates as WPVC-LP, licensed by the FCC to the Big Hands Helping Little Hearts Foundation, a nonprofit. It is a noncommercial station, so it does not sell advertising and relies on underwriting and donations.
A local Jackson voice
The station is based in Jackson and focused on Jackson and Madison County: local headlines, local weather and local announcements that national services do not carry.
What underwriters receive
On the air
On-air acknowledgments that thank your organization by name, written to FCC noncommercial underwriting rules. They will air once broadcasting begins.
On the website
Your name and logo on the Sponsors page, with your location, website or phone, and a neutral description of what you do.
Newsletter and events
Your organization is thanked in the Raw 100.5 community newsletter (planned monthly), listed by level, with a featured mention and logo at higher levels. You are also recognized at station events, as the level allows. See the levels below for what each one includes.
Show association
Support can be tied to a program, with a “Supported by” credit on that show’s page and an acknowledgment for that show. Sponsors choose their own show slots when they sign up (see the list below), subject to availability.
