Raw 100.5 is community radio for Jackson, Tennessee: raw, uncut and truthful. Your support helps us build and run local news, weather, music and community information for the people who live here.
Why supporting Raw 100.5 matters
Jackson has stories that national services never carry: what is happening on your street, at your church, in your schools, at your local businesses. Raw 100.5 exists to tell them straight and to give neighbors a place to be heard.
A nonprofit-owned station
Raw 100.5 operates as WPVC-LP, licensed by the FCC to the Big Hands Helping Little Hearts Foundation, a nonprofit. The station is noncommercial, so it does not sell advertising. It relies on underwriting and donations.
A local Jackson voice
The station is based in Jackson and focused on Jackson and Madison County: local headlines, local weather and local announcements.
Support never buys programming
Donors and underwriters do not choose, change or review what the station airs. Support keeps the lights on; it does not steer the message.
What Raw 100.5 does for Jackson
Here is what your support goes toward. These are the services we are building and planning, and what will air once broadcasting begins.
- Local news and talk: Jackson headlines, local voices and honest conversation. See the program schedule and The Raw.
- Soul, R&B and gospel: music for the whole day, including Gospel at Six on Sunday evenings.
- Public service announcements: space for community groups and nonprofits to reach their neighbors. See PSAs.
- Weather and safety information: local weather and community safety updates. Our plan is to carry emergency alerts as the FCC requires. See Weather & Alerts.
- Local artists: a stage for Jackson musicians, singers and poets. See Local Artists.
- A community voice: listener requests, event announcements and neighbors telling their own stories.
How underwriting works
Local businesses and organizations can support Raw 100.5 through underwriting. Instead of ads, an underwriter is thanked with a short acknowledgment that gives its name, business, a value-neutral tagline, location, and a website or phone number. Under 47 CFR § 73.503, acknowledgments contain no prices, discounts, calls to action, or qualitative or comparative claims.
On-air acknowledgments will air once broadcasting begins. Until then, underwriters are recognized on the Sponsors page. Nothing is charged before the station begins broadcasting.
Sponsors choose their own show slots at sign-up, subject to availability. Every show on the schedule is open for sponsorship, including Morning Show with Chris Morgan, The Raw (and Raw & Uncut), Lunch Break Soul, The Truth Talk Hour, The Drive Home, Quiet Storm Jackson, Local Artists Hour, Weekend Mix, Sunday Morning Inspiration, Sunday Mix, Gospel at Six and Sunday Evening Soul.

Founding Member
Thank-you gifts: hoodie and your name on the Founding Members wall, with your permission
Every donor, at any level, is listed on the Sponsors page under their level.
Raw 100.5 is operated by the Big Hands Helping Little Hearts Foundation, a nonprofit. Ask your tax advisor about deductibility. The value of a thank-you gift may reduce the deductible part of a donation.
The Raw 100.5 community newsletter
The Raw 100.5 community newsletter launches with the station, for Jackson neighbors, station supporters and underwriters. It is planned monthly and carries station news, upcoming shows and schedule changes, and community events. A thank-you section lists underwriters by level; higher levels get a featured mention with logo and a neutral description. Sponsor mentions follow the same FCC-safe style as on-air acknowledgments: name, location, a neutral tagline and website, with no prices or calls to action. Sign-up will be in the footer box once it is connected.
Newsletter and events: Your organization is thanked in the Raw 100.5 community newsletter (planned monthly), listed by level, with a featured mention and logo at higher levels. You are also recognized at station events, as the level allows.
