The Chargers put Pro Bowl safety Derwin James Jr. on injured reserve Saturday with a hamstring injury. He has not played since a Sept. 27 loss at Buffalo, and coach Jim Harbaugh said he had a setback in recovery.
James must miss at least four games. The Chargers (0-6) face the Rams (3-4) Sunday. Los Angeles signed cornerback Isas Waxter and promoted cornerback Kaiir Elam from the practice squad. Left guard Kayode Awosika will miss a fifth straight game, and Deane Leonard and Brenen Thompson are also out.
