Clemson coach Dabo Swinney called a pregame plane banner urging Florida State to fire coach Mike Norvell "embarrassing," "shameful" and "disrespectful" after the Tigers beat the Seminoles 36-24 on Saturday night in Tallahassee.
The banner flew over Doak Campbell Stadium, and Swinney noted it misspelled Norvell's name. He said Bobby Bowden was one of his heroes and defended Norvell, in his seventh season at FSU. With the loss, Florida State fell to 3-5 and 1-4 in the ACC, tied with Georgia Tech for last.
