This Sunday column by Candace Echols, a Midtown Memphis writer, reflects on play, recreation and faith. Its headline pairs a DeLorean, the time-travel car from the movies, with the idea of delight in God.
The piece opens with a thought that sums up its theme: that playful recreation is a kind of "re-creation," and that if God is in the business of anything, it is re-creating. Echols, who has written for national magazines, says she writes about whatever she notices in daily life.
