Five-star center Xavier Young has committed to LSU and plans to reclassify from the 2028 class into 2027, giving coach Will Wade and the Tigers the nation's No. 1 recruiting class, ESPN reported Saturday.
Young, who turned 16 in March, chose LSU over a final five that also included Tennessee, Maryland, Michigan and TCU. He visited all of them except TCU in recent weeks. He said Wade told him he has a chance to be an NBA player, and he praised the fan support he saw at the LA Tech football game. Because of his age he will have to spend at least two years in college before he is eligible for the NBA draft.
