Demarcus Henry, the No. 2 recruit in the 2027 class, has committed to North Carolina, giving first-year head coach Michael Malone a statement win days before his on-court tenure begins.
Henry is UNC's highest-ranked recruit since No. 2 Cole Anthony in 2019. Only No. 1 Harrison Barnes in 2010 ranked higher among Tar Heel recruits since ESPN's database began in 2007. He is the younger brother of Ohio State receiver Chris Henry Jr. and the son of former NFL wideout Chris Henry, and he picked the Tar Heels over Arkansas, Louisville and Kentucky. "Their vision for me fits exactly what I'm looking for," he said.
