The Bears and Titans based their trade for defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons on this year's Myles Garrett deal, sources told ESPN. "Close to the entire league" has asked about Simmons in recent seasons and the Titans said no, until Chicago's call last week.
The Bears first asked about Simmons during joint practices last summer. General manager Ryan Poles called Titans GM Mike Borgonzi, whom he knew from Kansas City, on Tuesday night. The Garrett trade brought the Browns a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second and a 2029 third, among other compensation.
